Wilayah tanggungan atau kawasan tanggungan adalah satu wilayah yang tidak mempunyai kebebasan kuasa politik yang penuh atau kedaulatan sebagai sebuah negeri dan secara politik kekal diluar kawalan kawasan penting negeri.
